Buffy Between the Lines

It’s hard to believe that it’s been twelve years since “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” first debuted on network television. Buffy quickly developed a fiercely loyal fanbase, that is still going strong five years after the series finale. Just take a peek around the Internet, you’ll find websites, message boards, and much more devoted to that little blonde slayer and her group of friends. Case in point, the new audio drama podcast, “Buffy Between the Lines.”
Modeled after radio dramas, Buffy Between the Lines brings the Buffy characters back to life in a whole new way. The show isn’t entirely family friendly, as it has some mild language, and darker themes. Like the television show before it, I would recommend it for early teens and up. Set between seasons five and six, the show follows “The Scooby Gang” as they try to adjust to life after Buffy’s unexpected death. Each of the 40 minute episodes are extremely well written, bringing back both the heart and humor that made the original so endearing. The voice actors are great as they give the characters their own personal touches, as well as the traits we all love so much.
With a cast and crew that spans the entire globe, the show really is an amazing production. While the new episodes are only released every other week, the producers make sure that their fans are never left wanting. Weekly goodies like mini-episodes, commentaries, interviews, and fan feedback episodes are always there to tide the listeners over until they can their latest Buffy fix.
